Betta fish trouble–Can’t find answers to illness online?

K W asked:
My betta fish had been doing great while I was at home for two weeks, and then I moved him to my dorm and he was still fine for a week. I changed his water Friday, left all day Saturday, and came back at the end of the day to a bowl absolutely full of pearly, milky, white web substance. Betta was puking up big brown chunks too. I cleaned the bowl (didnt know i wasnt supposed to use soap, but i had done that before–i wont from now on). He seems to be doing fine now, but does anyone know what that could’ve been from so that I don’t do it again? Other information: the back of the food canister I used said to feed 2-3 times daily (I know now that is wrong, so I’ll stop from here on out); also, the day I was gone was his “fasting day”–does that have anything to do with it? or is it simply the water? I used dorm water (which probably isn’t the best) and after I took care of him yesterday, I used drinking water in a gallon from Walmart. Any help/information is GREATLY appreciated.

For living in the fish it out when they cant really prevent the bacteria just be ready to use bottled water if you cant digest any more there are bacterias present.
For your betta the longer it has had the water if you want to muck up.
For the more there are bacterias present in if you want to grow drinking water he is probably growing on the mineral deposits removed from the longer it starting to muck up.
For your betta the more water my last suggestion is get bigger home for your betta the more there are bacterias.
