Betta Fish Trouble! Please Help?

My Betta Fish is young and VERY lively, he actually is rarely sitting still in his bowl. He will eat anything given to him, but can only digest the betta flakes, not the pellets, because he is so small.
This week i have been feeding him his usual routine, once every other day. But he two days ago after I fed him (i know i fed him a little too much on accident) he started having trouble swimming and was constantly floating to the top and kinda listing to the side. He is still very active and is swimming around the bowl furiously. I didnt feed him for two days and then I fed him a TINY TINY amount and these symptoms returned even worse! What should I do? Please help i love this fish so much!!
I have watched and examined him very closely, he doesnt look like a pinecone for dropsy. I looked online for pics of what that would look like and he looks fine other than a little swelling and the floating thing.
