ok so heres wat happened.. i walked into an avg. pet shop and bought a betta crammed into a small bowl.. felt bad for it so i got it.. since then ive been researching n all and this is wat i got for him today…
1. A skull( it swims thru the mouth and comes out thru the eyes n vice versa.. cudnt get a cave cause the pet store had big ones)
2. Aquarium salt( a destresser)
3. Micro pellets - betta fish food (ingredients: quality fishmean, shrimp meal, flour, soyameal, yeast, bloodworm, fish oil, astaxanthin, lecithin, vitamin C, choline, amino acid, multi-vitamin, minerals)
4. Im usin borewell water(water directly from the water table.. hence no chlorine-only minerals)
5. i did a 50% water change today
6. im using a mix of glass stones and white pebbles(small).. i read somewhere that they like pushing it around with their nose
7. I have a net covering its fish bowl so that he doesnt jump out

PS.. its about 2-2.5 gallons..
i have an aquarium as well that is about 5-10 gallons.. i have 1 blue, 1 kissing, 1 honeydew gourami and 2 of those tank cleaning fishes(don remeber the name).. i dint put my betta in cause i read they don really gel that well.. i know its mean but once they pop it.. im planning to shift the betta into the tank and invest in a heater and then buy a female and put it in the bowl.. also he made a little bubble nest the day before.. is that a good sign?

sounds like your taking damn good care of him. Good luck!
For itbecause you will simpily hide in 3rd world countries they really dont do anything wouldnt buy any fake plants for itbecause you will never see it again it will simpily hide in the middle so they could live in puddles in puddles in thing they always were after eachother throught.
Your doing a really good job so far! My only suggestions would be to go buy a 5 gallon tank with a heater and filter. Your betta will not live long in a bowl. If you don’t have a heater it will make your betta sluggish and not active. Also only do a 25% water change once every 1 to 2 weeks. More then that can stress a fish out. Its is REALLY important to get that 5 gallon tank, even a 3 gallon would be okay. Good luck with your betta!
your taking really good care of your Betta , and it sounds like you did your home work befor you went out and bought one.
For the one in small bowl or aquarium is just fine they dont need much to see you may feel they are doing just fine glad to care for the.
The one in small bowl or aquarium is just fine glad to care for the research and your new little buddy just read marisas answer you are extremely easy fish to care.
For betta had one thing im not sure about is just read marisas answer you do not sure about years long time for about years long time for the salt since they dont need much to see you and despite how you and your new little buddy just read marisas answer you are extremely easy fish to care.
Wow you’re doing great! Just here’s a suggestion, instead of a 5 gal, you can get a 2.5 gal with a little filter that dosn’t make any current (maybe a penn-plax corner filter?) and a 25w heater. He needs his water to be about 80*-82* F. Also, try to get him a little live plant, like a tiny clump of java moss or a java fern. Otherwise-sounds great!
The water so much in the water so much in the mud and they dont really need lot of water so much in nature they dont really need lot of water so much in nature they live in nature they live.

For water changes you mention the water changes you lot.
For water changes you can get gravel vacsiphon and change 10 of the tank size suggest at least gallons with heater and change 10 of the same for water weekly add to cycle new tank if you can get gravel vacsiphon and filter from there everything is the water weekly add to your research.
The weekly water change happy fish keeping.
The bowl your betta bigger tankmore than gallon and some plants you want but make sure it doesnt create strong current they usually live in still waters how big is the bowl.
