Forget the betta barrack. Get some more fish! 3-4 small angels should be fine. a couple blue or gold gouramis. and a small school of neons, at least 6. I don’t know why you couldn’t keep catfish or loaches in there, as long as you made sure food got to them. If you put in some well rinsed sliced green beans, that should do the trick.
