hermit crab+ betta fish question?

marissa asked:
my hermit crab began “shedding” its skin several days ago.
i noticed when i picked him up, and he wasn’t moving.
his eyes looked crusted over.
so after crying for a while(because i thought he was dead) i called my mom and she said he was just shedding his skin and i should put him down for a few days.

so i did. And now his skin is nice and pink, so i know he’s alive. But his limbs are all over the tank? Like a little arm and hook thing, just sitting there. Is that normal? Do they loose their limbs like that or is it something else?
About my betta fish.
His name is paul
paul has like a half a gallon bowl, with one little fake flower in the middle. I just recently learned that this bowl may be too small for him. If i wanted to get a bigger tank, that i could fit other fish into, what size should i get? Are there fish i can put in there with a fighting fish? I heard that they’re pretty aggressive, but i’ve also heard that goldfish are okay in there. What kinds of fish can i get in there? Will paul try to murder them?
